After the goods have been successfully released for storage by the incoming inspection, the individual items can be precisely identified by SCAN of the item barcode and then assigned accordingly by displaying a TARGET / DESIRED storage location. Here it is important to make sure that the items are assigned to the correct storage location. The stored quantity is then checked again and recorded. Subsequently, the goods are assigned to the TARGET storage bin by SCAN of the storage bin code.
Our overall system can be implemented in warehouses with a fixed bin system, i.e. storage of items in a fixed bin, as well as in dynamic "chaotic" storage systems. Efficient warehousing and storage are particularly important when dealing with perishable goods such as food. We also offer FiFo solutions for this, for example, goods with a shortened best-before date are sold before new goods - this ensures fewer rejects. This entire process is recorded and booked via the ERP/ LVS system.

Storage strategies
Companies pursue a wide variety of storage strategies. A distinction is made between the fixed storage system and the free storage system (also known as chaotic storage). A mixture of both systems is also possible.
In the fixed bin system, each item is assigned a fixed storage bin. Only the article is stored in this bin. If a storage bin is full, articles can be placed in reserve or subsequent delivery storage bins.
In chaotic warehousing, items are not assigned to fixed storage bins. The articles are simply stored in free storage bins. Especially in chaotic warehousing, a warehouse management system plays a major role. The system records the storage location during storage, so the item is always retrieved.
But a mixture of both variants is also possible. For example, free storage bins are suitable for articles where the assortment often changes and fixed storage bins for articles that are permanently in the assortment.
Storage principles
Depending on the industry and products, companies proceed according to different storage principles. The storage principles are:
FiFo - First in, First out
Here, the items that were stored first are the first to be retrieved. This is to prevent goods from spoiling or deteriorating in quality, for example.
FeFo - First expired, First out
Here, the items that have the lowest best-before date are removed from storage first.
LiFo - Last in, First out
This is the opposite of the FiFo method. Here, the goods that were put into storage last are taken out of storage first. This method is used, for example, for goods that can lie in the warehouse for a long time or for construction materials such as gravel.
HiFo - Highest in, First out
Here the commodity with the highest value is taken first from the camp. The procurement value is taken as the basis for the value of the goods. This procedure is used e.g. with goods, which can suffer in the long run by long storage a loss in value.
LoFo - Lowest in, First out
Here, the goods with the lowest value are removed from stock first. This procedure is the opposite of HiFo.
