Connect ERP interfaces to mobile processes
Do you need a connection to your mobile processes for the ERP interfaces and other third-party solutions. We support you with our software solutions. Our customers save the costs of an individual development for the MDE software and at the same time the complex programming of the interface.Mobile ERP interfaces
For mobile processes, a connection via interfaces to the ERP system is required so that work can be carried out on the basis of current master data and order data. At the same time, the direct connection also ensures data feedback from the PDC subsystem to the ERP system.
-
File exchange / file import of master data / order data and file export of results to the ERP system
-
Exchange via databases, read views and exchange tables
-
direct WebService connection
A combination of the interface paths is also possible, in which, for example, master data is exchanged via file exports and file imports, and process data is exchanged via direct WebService communication.
The ERP system is the decisive success factor for companies to successfully assert and position themselves in the market. First and foremost, an ERP system is an IT-supported system of hardware and software solutions that supports the management in planning and controlling the company and its resources. In particular, the important resources of capital, employees and operating resources must be controlled in the company in order to use and control them tactically and strategically and thus ensure the economic success of the company.
However, in addition to resource planning, ERP systems also offer functions for controlling business processes in order to effectively design them, influence them and manage them. Central data management helps by capturing business processes through PDC software from COSYS and creating a clear flow of information by supporting, mapping, optimizing and documenting these processes. This provides the management with important data to take appropriate countermeasures in time.
Implement ERP systems in the company
The introduction of an ERP system is an extremely long and bumpy road, which must first be mastered before one can profit from the advantages of an ERP. At the start, precise considerations must be made about the project. Budgets have to be clearly defined and the course of the project has to be clearly planned. Just as important, however, is the creation of a requirements catalog to summarize the requirements for the new enterprise resource planning system and thus determine the right or suitable ERP system. Then the selection of the ERP system begins, as well as the planning. After implementation, data migration, adaptation of the ERP software and extensive system tests, the ERP system can be switched to productive operation and actively used by the company.
COSYS Middleware Interfaces
If you already have MDE devices in use, you can continue to use the devices when you switch to our solution or change your enterprise resource planning system. You only need to purchase a license for the MDE software and our middleware. You do not need to purchase new devices.
Should your enterprise resource planning system not be listed or do you use an individual system developed by yourself? Our mobile solutions can be connected to almost any common database system via our configurable WebService.
When choosing between a standardized basic system from COSYS and individual developments from various providers, a long-term consideration should be made. Enterprise resource planning systems / ERP solution - examples
The ERP system is responsible for the central data storage and mapping of the business processes in the company, often the ERP system modules can be used for individual departments, yet the data is kept centralized and can thus be used for comprehensive evaluations. Thus, the daily business is mapped via an ERP system. For more in-depth processes, e.g. in intralogistics, subsystems are required in order to design the processes as closely as possible to the process and to report the data back to the ERP system in real time via a connection. Often, these sub-processes then require a simpler user interface to provide the operational staff with the functions and information they need. To get the picked orders to the customer, many companies rely on their own delivery fleet. To ensure that loading and delivery are error-free, efficient subsystems from COSYS can be used here as well. This saves you the costly new development or addition of functions in the ERP system and, with COSYS TMS, you use an already tested, modularly expandable and widely used software framework.

FAQ Connecting COSYS Software to ERP
The ERP system offers comprehensive functions, but mobile apps are often required for processes in the warehouse, transport, production and on the retail floor, which are not tied to a stationary PC and the ERP system. Rather, the application should be close to the process, this requirement is met by the subsystems / third-party systems of COSYS and realize a clean connection to the ERP system. Thereby COSYS reads data from the ERP system and provides the results again, which are validated by the ERP system via the interface. The results from the PDC subsystem are posted by the ERP according to posting logics, inventories are adjusted and subsequent processes such as delivery bill and invoice are triggered. In this way, the data basis in the ERP system remains consistent and is not directly overwritten or changed by third-party systems.
Interfaces exchange data between the ERP system and the mobile data collection subsystem, this ensures that both systems are up to date. By networking the mobile devices, smooth communication can also take place via real-time transmission. If the devices should ever have no network connection, the data is automatically pushed into the transmission loop and automatically transmitted as soon as a connection is available.
In the majority of cases, the ERP system is the leading system and receives all necessary data. For inventory systems, logistics systems, transport systems and production systems, data is exchanged via interfaces and filtering and sorting can be performed via COSYS interfaces. The ERP system thereby receives the data to make the postings in the ERP system.
In principle, the data entered on the mobile device is checked for plausibility. If, however, data is recorded that does not match the system inventories in the ERP system, the COSYS backend can receive feedback from the ERP system and display it and, for example, notify the ERP administrator by e-mail, e.g. inventory deviations in a storage bin. This can basically be prevented by online queries of the stocks and is also used where the spatial and technical conditions (e.g. WLAN or LTE) allow this.
Live communication is basically possible with the COSYS software. The ERP system can access live the mobile captured data, which is provided to the ERP system via the COSYS backend.
This permanent connection is not mandatory. In principle, the mobile devices can also record data offline and transfer it to the COSYS backend when connected. The COSYS backend and the ERP system permanently exchange data to keep both systems up to date.
The division of responsibility takes place between the customer and COSYS in agreements. An interface requires on the one hand the creation as well as the maintenance of the interface. Depending on the customer´s requirements, a division of responsibilities can be made according to the customer´s own IT capacities. Data can be provided to the COSYS system in different ways and in different formats. In the same way, data can be exported from the COSYS system and processed in other systems.
